Serafina Kenwood been at LCHS teaching 712 art since 1997. She grew up in New York and moved to CA in 1993. Has a BFA in Costume Design from SUNY Purchase and an MA in Art with Teacher Certification from Teachers College Columbia University. Before becoming a teacher Mrs. Kenwood worked in NYC making costumes and props for B'way and offB'way theater, commercials, and television.
She has two children who attended LaCanada schools K-12 and are both pursuing the performing arts thanks to the amazing LCUSD theater, choral and music programs!!! Her husband is also in the arts...he is an Emmy award-winning art director on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Mrs. Kenwood enjoys motivating and keeping students spirit alive with her enthusiasm and general concern for the well being of her students.
She believes the arts are essential for all students as it helps us to "lose ourselves and find ourselves at the same time" and it is a privilege that our students have so many creative opportunities here at LCUSD!!
