I was raised locally in Glendale and attended Hoover High School. I earned my undergraduate degree from UC Riverside, followed by my teaching credential at California State University, Northridge. Early in my career, I spent a year teaching English in Korea, after which I returned to California and taught third grade in Anaheim. After two years in elementary education, I realized my passion was working with older students and transitioned to the secondary level. I joined La Cañada High School, where I initially taught 8th grade math and science, and later moved into my current role as a 7th grade math teacher.
While teaching at La Canada I have had the honor of being awarded the Golden Oak from the PTA in 2025 and the Rose Harrington teacher of the year in 2023.
In addition to teaching, I have an extensive background in coaching volleyball, with 17 years of experience. I began by coaching seventh and eighth grade volleyball at La Cañada in 1999 and eventually became the varsity coach at the high school. During my tenure, our team won a CIF championship in 2008. I retired from coaching to dedicate more time to my family.
I am married with two daughters. While my family is my top priority, I enjoy spending my free time following sports, particularly the Dodgers, Lakers, and UCLA football.
