Hi! My name is Laura Deans and I am a Resource Specialist (RSP) at La Canada High School specializing in Algebra 1(LC Math 1) & 8th Grade Math. Working with students with special needs is a passion of mine. I firmly believe that all students can be successful and learn to their individual potential and I expect my students to succeed as best they can.
I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. After working with students with special needs for a number of years I found my passion was firmly planted in teaching these students. I went back to school and obtained my Education Specialist credential. Before teaching at LCHS I worked at Paradise Canyon Elementary and La Canada Elementary.
My family and I moved here from Seattle, Washington--home of Husky Football--18 years ago. We raised both our sons here in La Canada. Rob, my oldest, is studying Math Education at my Alma Mater, Western Washington University. David is a Senior at LCHS and is active in our fantastic Drumline and Marching Band. My husband is in event production and most of my students know him for the Cochella Music Festival. We also have our dog Milly and Tiger the cat.
