KC Mathews has been a teacher and coach at La Canada High School since 1999.
KC has taught in both the History and Physical Education departments during his time at LCHS. He has coached four different sports at LCHS; baseball, football, ice hockey and softball. He is currently the head coach of the hockey and softball teams. In 2011 and 2012, his LCHS softball team won back to back the Division 5 CIF championships and Coach Mathews was named CIF Southern Section Division 5 Coach of the Year. Coach Mathews is a 1992 graduate of LCHS. He received his bachelor degree and teaching credential from Northern Arizona University, where he played ice hockey.
